CHCSS00070 Assist clients with medication
This skill set focuses on providing support to a person self administering medication.
Students must hold Certificate III or higher qualification in an area providing direct client care and support and be employed in the community services industry with an organisation that can provided opportunities for the student to assist with medication.
Skill set outline – This skill set contains 2 units of competency.
Enrolment duration – 4 weeks.
Study options – Online study, or External paper-based study. In-class training options available for groups of 6 or more.
Start date – Rolling start. This skill Set can be enrolled into throughout the year.
Funding – Funding is available for this skill set under the Higher Level Skills program (Queensland enrolments only). Eligibility criteria applies, see the Higher Level skills section of this website for more information on eligibility. Potential students applying for funding must be new or existing works in the Community Services and Health sectors.
Unfunded cost – Fee for service – $360** per person
Funded cost – Higher Level Skills – $50** non concession / $40** concession per person.
Suitable for – Individuals who hold a Certificate III or higher qualification in an area involving the provision of direct client care or support.
Requirement – Potential students must have access to a workplace that assists clients with medication (overseen by a Registered Nurse) or be willing to complete work placement to complete the mandatory practical element of the course.
CHCSS00071 Basic foot care
This skill set focuses on providing support to people who have been assessed by a relevant health practitioner as requiring basic foot skin and nail care.
Skill set outline – This skill Set contains 3 units of competency
Enrolment duration – 6 weeks.
Study options – Online study, or External paper-based study. In-class training options available for groups of 6 or more.
Start date – Rolling start. This skill Set can be enrolled into throughout the year.

CHCSS00080 Introduction to Leisure and health
This skill set provides an introduction to the skills needed to meet the leisure and recreation needs of clients.
Skill set outline – This skill Set contains 3 units of competency and a mandatory 120 hour work placement
Enrolment duration – 10 weeks.
Study options – Online study, or External paper-based study. In-class training options available for groups of 6 or more.
Start date – Rolling start. This skill Set can be enrolled into throughout the year.
Cost – $495** per person
Suitable for – Individuals who hold Certificate III or higher in Community Services, Health or related field.

This skill set provides an introduction to the Disability sector. It focuses on the introductory skills required to provide support to people with disability in various settings.
Skill set outline – This skill Set contains 4 units of competency
Enrolment duration – 8 weeks.
Study options – Online study, or External paper-based study. In-class training options available for groups of 6 or more.
Start date – Rolling start. This skill Set can be enrolled into throughout the year.
Cost -$660** per person.
CHCSS00088 Induction
This skill set focuses on the skills to support the induction of new workers into roles in the disability sector health and community services industries.
Skill set outline – This skill Set contains 4 units of competency
Enrolment duration – 8 weeks to complete.
Study options – In-class*, online or paper based external.
In-class start date – Start dates are scheduled in line with in-class training for CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support. Group enrolments of 6 or more students will have negotiated start dates.
Online / paper based external start date – Rolling start. This skill Set can be enrolled into throughout the year.
Cost – $660** per person
CHCSS00097 Individual Support – Ageing
This skill set covers the units for the ageing specialisation for the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support qualification. It focuses on the skills required to provide person centred support to older people in various settings.
Skill set outline – This skill Set contains 3 units of competency
Enrolment duration – 6 weeks. Can be completed earlier depending on student progression / other factors.
Study options – Online study, or external paper-based study. In-class training options available for groups of 6 or more.
Online / paper based external start date – Rolling start. This skill Set can be enrolled into throughout the year.

This skill set covers the units for the Disability specialisation for the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support qualification. It focuses on the skills required to provide support to people with disability in various settings.
Individual and group enrolments available. Minimum 6 students for group enrolments.
