CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support

Description

These qualifications are designed to prepare workers for employment within the Aged and Community services or Disability settings. The course has been designed to ensure that students learn the important physical and cognitive skills required to successfully work within these setting, develop meaningful relationships with workers and clients, provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, a disability or some other reason and meet the personal care needs of clients within their relevant settings.

Qualification information

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual support consists of 13 units of competency made up of 7 core units and 6 elective units. This qualification includes a mandatory 120 hour work placement.

Elective units have been selected in consultation with industry to ensure the best possible chance for employment. Elective units not included on this page may be available by negotiation. Elective units must meet the packaging rules within CHC33015 before being considered for inclusion.

Prerequisite

The ability to participate in and complete manual tasks including bending, pulling, pushing, reaching and lifting; comprehend, communicate and complete assessment tasks in English, commit to and meet set timeframes; complete studies outside of the classroom setting; complete basic computer based tasks.

Due to the nature of the industry, vaccinations are highly recommended.

  • National Police Check – must provide receipt of application at time of enrolment
  • Working with children Blue Card (Disability only)
Support

Support is available to students by phone, email or through appointment based face to face meetings.

Students requiring higher levels of support can be referred to external support services by request.

Fees
  • Full fee – $2245.00
  • Certificate 3 Guarantee (non-concessional) – $195.00  
  • Certificate 3 Guarantee (concessional) – $130.00
  • Work placement shirt – $38.00 per shirt

Funding

The Certificate 3 Guarantee program, funded by the Queensland Government, may be available for Queensland based students enrolling into this qualification. Eligibility criteria applies. Course Duration

3 months. This course is competency based and can be completed in a shorter time frame depending on the students existing skills and knowledge and prior learning.

An extension of this period may be available depending on the students circumstances.
