CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services


This qualification is designed for new and existing workers and people looking at working in the community services to support individuals through the provision of person-centred services.

Work may include day-to-day support of individuals in community settings, or support the implementation of specific community-based programs.

CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services consists of 12 units of competency made up of 5 core units and 7 elective units. This qualification includes a mandatory 120 hour work placement.

Elective units have been selected by HANMAC on the basis of consultation with industry. Elective units that are not included in the elective section of this page are available by negotiation. Elective units must meet the packaging rules within CHC32015 before being considered for inclusion.

The ability to participate in and complete manual tasks including bending, pulling, pushing, reaching and lifting; comprehend, communicate and complete assessment tasks in English, commit to and meet set timeframes; complete studies outside of the classroom setting; complete basic computer based tasks.

Due to the nature of the industry, vaccinations are highly recommended.

  • National Police Check (vulnerable people) – must provide receipt of application or copy of current check at time of commencement.
  • Current flu vaccination.

Support is available to students by phone, email and appointment based face to face meetings.
Students requiring higher levels of support can be referred to external support services by request.

  • Full fee – $2088
  • Certificate 3 Guarantee (non-concessional) – $180
  • Certificate 3 Guarantee (concessional) – $120

Course Duration

3 months. This course is competency based and can be completed in a shorter time frame depending on the students existing skills and knowledge and prior learning.

An extension may be available depending on the students circumstances.
