This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual support consists of 13 units of competency made up of 7 core units and 6 elective units. This qualification includes a mandatory 120 hour work placement.

Where a student wishes to complete a specialisation they must select at least one of the following areas of study.
Ageing, Home and Community
Elective units have been selected by HANMAC on the basis of consultation with industry. Elective units that are not included in the elective section of this page are available by negotiation. Elective units must meet the packaging rules within CHC33015 before being considered for inclusion.

The Certificate 3 Guarantee program, funded by the Queensland Government, may be available for Queensland based students enrolling into this qualification. Eligibility criteria applies. 12 weeks. This course is competency based and can be completed in a shorter time frame depending on the students existing skills and knowledge and prior learning.
An extension of this period may be available depending on the students circumstances.
